Westbourne Expands To Auckland
Westbourne IT Global Services today has announced the international expansion of its operations with the opening of a new office in Auckland.
The announcement was made by the Cork company during the Enterprise Ireland trade and investment mission to Australia.
Backed by funding from Enterprise Ireland, The New Zealand office will create 20 new jobs over the coming 12 months and the company is currently recruiting for English speaking Japanese, Korean and Chinese technical staff to fill positions in its new Auckland office.
Speaking from Sydney, minister Richard Bruton said: “Westbourne IT is a highly innovative Irish company which announced plans to double its workforce in Ireland this year with the creation of an additional 50 jobs at its headquarters in Cork.
“I wish Westbourne IT every success as they pursue new export sales in the Asia Pacific region, while continuing to create jobs back home in Ireland.”
John O'Sullivan, Founder and CEO of Westbourne, said: “As part of our international expansion plans, we will actively seek new business opportunities in the Asia Pacific region, which our Cork base will support through the further addition of new roles.
“The opening of our first international office in Auckland is a hugely significant step for us and I'm delighted to confirm that by the end of 2016 we expect to employ 150 people in Cork and 50 people in Auckland.”
Last January Westbourne announced it planned to double its workforce from 50 to 100. To-date, 30 of these new roles have been created.
Westbourne provides remote IT support to global users on a 24/7 and was founded by O'Sullivan in 1994. (September 2014)
