ThoughtBox Partners With EU Accelerator
E-learning and gamification company ThoughtBox has partnered with a consortium of innovation experts from around Europe to launch an accelerator initiative for promising startups.
ThoughtBox, which is based in Dublin, will help support the EuropeanPioneers consortium for its two-year, EU-funded programme, which will support 25 startups and SMEs to the tune of €4.5m.
The scheme targets businesses active in the fields of smart city services, social connected TV, pervasive gaming and e-learning.
EuropeanPioneers – the name of the accelerator – is supported by the titular consortium that includes ThoughtBox among several participating firms from across Europe.
Applications for the accelerator are now being taken and the deadline for entries is October 31. For more information and to apply, visit www.europeanpioneers.eu.
During the eight-month programme, the selected startups will receive equity-free funding of between €50,000 and €250,000 each, as well as access to cutting edge software platforms.
The participants will also be supported by experienced coaches in areas including concept and business model development, user-testing, team-building, marketing and financing.
Companies that are selected for the accelerator will take part while based in their existing location, although several trips to Berlin will be required.
Five companies will be accepted onto the programme this year; two more application rounds in 2015 will select a further ten participants each.
