Turkish Airlines Lands Four Awards
Turkish Airlines secured a quartet of honours at the 2014 Skytrax World Airline Awards.
The airline won 'Best Airline in Europe', 'Best Airline in Southern Europe', 'Best Business Class Onboard Catering' and 'Best Business Class Lounge Dining' awards in the competition.
Skytrax provides professional audit and service benchmarking programmes for airlines, airline alliances, airports and related air transport and service suppliers globally.
This year's awards were based on the results of over 18 million passenger surveys, with more than 105 nationalities participating, covering 245 airlines.
Turkish Airlines secured the 'Best Airline in Europe' prize for the fourth year running, while its Flying Chef service for business-class passengers earned the airline a top spot in the 'Best Business Class Catering' category.
The airline won the 'Best Business Class Lounge Dining' category for its expanded and refurbished lounge at Ataturk Airport.
Turkish Airlines' CEO, Temel Kotil (pictured at the awards ceremony), was presented with the awards by the CEO of Skytrax, Edward Plaisted. The survey results used for the competition were collected over a ten-month period.
These latest award wins continue a sustained period of success for Turkish Airlines, which has seen passenger numbers rise by 16.8% so far in 2014. (August 2014)
