New GloHealth Insurance Plans
GloHealth has launched a new range of health insurance plans pitched at those considering leaving the health insurance market.
From September 1, health insurance customers will be able to take out a GloHealth Activate Cash plan, which gives cash back for scans, tests and inpatient hospital stays.
From the same date, the Activate Hospital plans will allow Activate Cash plan holders to upgrade to a hospital plan whenever they want to.
Another plan launched by GloHealth is its Activate More Cash. Customers choose the cash plan based on how much they want to pay and how much cash back they would like to receive for each benefit.
The GloHealth Activate Hospital plans give customers access to hospital treatment as a private patient. There are two plans to choose from – Activate Hospital and Activate More Hospital.
Activate Hospital gives customers faster private access to public hospitals and Activate More Hospital gives them faster private access to a range of public and private hospitals.
The Activate Hospital plans allow customers to upgrade from the corresponding Activate Cash plans at any time and GloHealth will reduce the upgrade waiting period by two years for pre-existing conditions.
This will mean that for people under the age of 65, they can upgrade back to hospital cover without any waiting period applying to the upgrade in cover.
Under the Activate Cash plan, two adults and two children are covered for €1,112.74, saving them over €500 when compared with GloHealth's basic plan.
Two adults and two children are covered under the Activate More Cash plan for €1,665.36, which is €676 cheaper than GloHealth's Better Choice plan.
Jim Dowdall, chief executive of GloHealth, says: “You only have to pay for a cash plan which provides cash back for diagnostics and inpatient stays knowing that you can upgrade to full hospital cover available in the Activate Hospital plans when you want to.” (September 2014)
