Lucan Get New Subs Franchise
Sandwich store franchise Nom Nom Subs has opened its second outlet, this time in Lucan, with plans to extend the franchise to five stores by the end of 2014.
Nom Nom Subs launched its maiden outlet in Dublin's Pearse Street station in December 2013. The food-to-go store was developed by Complete Cuisine, a family-run frozen and baked goods firm that originated in Limerick.
Its second store is located at a Texaco station in Lucan and is the first integrated model to use the Complete Cuisine and Nom Nom Subs brands. The franchisee is Vincent Callan.
According to Dermot Carberry, director of franchising at Nom Nom Subs: “Eight full-time jobs have already been created with the opening of the first store, and there will be an additional 20 jobs created by the end of this year.”
Prospective Nom Nom Subs franchisees can chose from three options – the integrated model (as adopted by Texaco, Lucan), a standalone model (implemented into the Pearse Station store), and a modular offering for retail stores and supermarkets.

The franchise models allow retailers to offer a new menu to their customers and a point of differentiation for their hot food counters. Nom Nom Subs director, Dermot Hanrahan, says that interest from other potential franchisees is growing.
“As a 100% Irish-owned new franchise, there is definitely a gap in the market for a brand like Nom Nom Subs. Vincent Callan is the first franchisee on board, and we have a further two to three in the process of signing up at the moment.”
Says Vincent Callan: “There are in excess of 20,000 customers who pass through the forecourt on a weekly basis.
"This will be a fantastic opportunity to introduce this exciting new brand to our existing and new customers and our unique advantage is that we are open 24 hours a day, meaning that the customer has access to Nom Nom Subs anytime of the day or night.”
Interested franchisees are looking at a minimum initial investment of €70,000 for Nom Nom Subs, which gets them a turnkey store with the franchise's branding and décor. (August 2014)
