Emirates Airline has appointed Enda Corneille as Country Manager Ireland.

He will take on his new role on August 18th and will manage the team of 26 people located between the public reservations office in Hume Street, Dublin 2 and Dublin Airport.

Corneille has held a number of senior positions with Aer Lingus including country manager roles in Switzerland, Netherlands, London and Ireland.

In 2006, he was appointed to the Executive team as Commercial Director where he had responsibility for all aspects of the airline's commercial operations. In 2010, he was appointed Director of Shared Services and Corporate affairs.

Most recently Corneille (pictured) has been a global instructor at the IATA Training and Development Institute in Geneva, where he delivered airline management training to a wide range of carriers.

He is visiting lecturer to Cranfield University in the UK and holds a first class honours MBA in Aviation Management.

“I am delighted to be joining such a successful and ambitious global team. This is a new and exciting chapter in the development and evolution of the Emirates story in Ireland, with the launch of a second daily flight between Dublin and Dubai from September 1,” he said.

Hubert Frach, Emirates Divisional Senior Vice President Commercial Operations West said: “The Irish market has proven to be one of Emirates' most successful route launches and we are excited as we plan for the continued growth of the airline.”

Emirates flies to 143 destinations in 81 countries and territories and from September, will connect up to 22,000 customers each month from Ireland to the rest of the world. (August 2014)
