Derry Gets 'Apple' Store
Apple products reseller iConnect is planning its third store opening in Ireland next month, this time in Foyleside Shopping Centre in Derry.
The retailer has outlets in in Kildare's Whitewater Shopping Centre and Liffey Valley shopping centre in Dublin.
iConnect is owned by Qatari-based Al Mana Group, which is active in the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Dubai and Bahrain.
The Derry store will open on September 20 and create ten jobs, selling various Apple devices and accessories. It will also be the first approved Apple reseller in Northern Ireland.
Al Mana employs over 3,000 people worldwide and maintains a portfolio of investments in industries ranging from real estate and engineering to food services, media and fashion. Around €8m is being committed by iConnect to developing its presence in Ireland.
John McEvoy, director of iConnect (pictured), says that the Derry iConnect store will serve as the firm's head office in Northern Ireland.
“We will be placing strong emphasis on providing customers with exceptional levels of service, outstanding educational platforms and an enhanced retail experience, which we hope will further increase awareness and loyalty to the Apple brand as we move forward,” he adds. (August 2014)
