Small Firms Boost From Mobile Apps

Digital presents businesses with a new channel to reach their customers directly, and SMEs in particular need to take advantage of this, according to Gary Disley, marketing director of eircom Business Solutions

Since the launch of its Digital Boost programme, eircom Business Solutions has have engaged with over 2,000 businesses nationwide who have been eager to improve their digital strategies.

“The tools to drive service adoption, incremental revenue and measure success are now more available than ever before,” says Disley. “But there is no point in having all this great technology if it's not making a positive impact on the bottom line.”

Disley (pictured) adds that the key objective of Digital Boost this year was to help SMEs to tap into the world of mobile commerce, and get ahead by developing apps that help to deliver on a number of key focus areas, driving new revenues through better customer engagement and also using technology to drive internal efficiencies.

Says Disley: “The Digital Boost competition has really highlighted how important a strong app can be for a business. From introducing a promotions app for the Urban Day Spa and working with Pilates Plus Dublin to launch a real-time bookings app, to enabling Mr Waffle to geotarget and open up a new marketplace, we've seen how Digital Boost can introduce businesses to mobile and digital to enhance their customer offerings and impact on their bottom line.” (September 2014)
