Eircom Spider Awards Seek Entries
Nominations for the 2014 eircom Spider Awards are now being invited. The long-running digital awards competition, which has taken place annually for 19 years, will accept applications for its 2014 iteration until October 1.
Three new categories have been added to the Spider awards this year, in addition to the usual selections in financial services, tourism, charity, retail, news, social media and others, thus bringing to 23 the total number of categories for nominees.
The category additions are for web analytics and optimisation, rich media and best digital game. According to Gary Disley, chairman of the judging panel and marketing director with eircom Business Solutions: “It's important to recognise and reward the ground-breaking work that is being carried out every day in the digital space. We have a wealth of talent in Ireland with small community groups, creative agencies and large businesses all demonstrating huge creativity and innovation.
He adds: “The digital environment has evolved massively in Ireland and we have come from a position where digital campaigns were seen as nice to have to now fully recognising how critical digital is to everything we do.”
This year's awards will take place on November 20 in Dublin's Convention Centre, hosted by TV personalities Jennifer Maguire and Bernard O'Shea.
